Data Deletion Instructions

You can request deletion of your Yanga account and all data we hold on you at any time. We comply with both POPIA (South Africa) and GDPR-style data subject rights.

How to Delete Your Data — Option 1: In WhatsApp (Instant)

  1. Open your WhatsApp chat with Yanga.
  2. Send the message: forget me
  3. Yanga confirms deletion immediately. Your profile (name, language, area, preferences) is removed from our database.

How to Delete Your Data — Option 2: By Email

  1. Email info@yanga.co.za with the subject "Data deletion request".
  2. Include the WhatsApp number you used with Yanga so we can locate your record.
  3. We confirm deletion within 7 working days.

What Gets Deleted

What's Retained for a Limited Time

Lead conversations (messages relayed between you and a business through Yanga) are retained for up to 12 months for support and dispute resolution, then permanently deleted. If you require these to be deleted sooner, email us with your request and we will action it within 30 days.
